CUYABENO JUNGLE TOUR
5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS
The Cuyabeno Reserve is a Protected Area with approximately 590,112 hectares. One of the main objectives of the Cuyabeno reserve is the ongoing conservation of the tropical rainforest. The reserve is a complex of rivers, lagoons and flooded forests. Cuyabeno is characterized by its high biodiversity and the interrelations between the ecosystems of the rainforest. The geomorphology of the reserve is a consequence of the sediment drag of the rivers and the materials of the Andes, mainly by the river Aguarico. The huge volume of cascading water from the mountains keeps the water levels naturally high, ensuring that the river is navigable all year round. The rain season could be July and August and the dry season could be January and February but nothing is sure. Cuyabeno protects 540 species of birds, 10 species of monkeys, 2 species of river dolphins, insects, frogs, reptiles and an incredible record of 307 species of trees per hectare and some medicinal plants.
